Ratchet & Clank is a series of 3D platformer / third-person shooter video games. The franchise was created and developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS2, PSP, and PS3 consoles, with the exclusion of Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank, which were developed by High Impact Games. Every game in the series has been released exclusively for the PlayStation family of consoles as the IP is owned by Sony Computer Entertainment.
The games follow the adventures of Ratchet (a bobcat-like space alien known as a Lombax who is very handy with tools) and Clank (a diminutive, sentient robot that befriends Ratchet) as they travel through the universe, saving it from evil forces on a regular basis. The series is noted for the inclusion of many exotic and unique weapons and devices.
